Classroom Intensive CCS Exam Preparation

The Classroom Intensive CCS Exam Preparation course is a hybrid of 4 online (virtual) classes and 9 in-person (classrooom) classes.  The 13th class is a mock exam designed to prepare the student for the experience of taking the CCS exam.  The in-person classes are held in the classroom facility located  at the Barry Libman Inc. conference center in Concord, Massachusetts.

Barry Libman Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of a virtual Intensive CCS Exam Preparation.  Offering the same intensive preparation, personalized attention, and real-time instruction, virtual Intensive CCS Exam Preparation is ideal for students located outside New England or otherwise unable to travel to the classroom sessions.  The virtual classes are available to students anywhere with internet access.

What to expect:
Three-hour classes are held weekly for thirteen weeks.  The expected out-of-class work per week is an additional 10-15 hours depending on the subject matter and the student’s individual experience.  Weekly assignments must be completed on a timely basis to ensure productive class time.

Students who attend the virtual and classroom classes and complete the necessary additional course work will be prepared to sit for the CCS exam.  It is our experience that students unable to commit the necessary time and energy to the course will not be prepared to sit for the CCS exam.  Students unable to keep current with the course work may be asked to withdraw from the course.

Prior to Acceptance to the Course:

2. Schedule an interview with the instructor to discuss your background and readiness to undertake the class (email:  info@barrylibmaninc.com to set-up interview).
3. A course demonstration, held as a virtual meeting, will be scheduled with the student to explore the course in detail and to determine whether the course is right for the student at this time.
4. Students in the Intensive CCS Examination Preparation class should be prepared to take the CCS examination shortly after completion of the course.

Faculty:
Mary Beth York, CCS, CCS-P has over twenty years experience in coding, auditing and documentation for hospitals ranging from community to teaching hospitals as well as physician group practices.  As an educator, Mary Beth has taught in a broad range of settings from large classroom, to small group, to one-on-one instruction.  Mary Beth has taught CCS and CCS-P exam preparation skills, interventional radiology, and physician education on documentation requirements and assignment of E&M levels. Mary Beth York is a Senior Associate with Barry Libman Inc.
