Training and Education for Coders
Barry Libman Inc. offers several training and education opportunities for HIM professionals.
Barry Libman Inc. offers an affordable and flexible online Anatomy & Physiology for Coders course. The course was created by coder for coders; providing not only anatomy and physiology but also the understanding of disease processes, selected medical terminology, frequently prescribed drugs, and common laboratory tests necessary to completely and accurately code medical records. AHIMA and AAPC have issued prior approval allowing medical record coders taking and passing the Anatomy & Physiology for Coders course to receive continuing education credits.
Barry Libman Inc. offers an Intensive CCS Exam Preparation course for students who wish to sit for the AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist examination. The thirteen week course is offered as either a hybrid of four online (virtual) classes and nine in-person (classrooom) classes or as thirteen online (virtual) classes. The classroom is located in Concord, Massachusetts at the Barry Libman Inc. conference center or can be brought on-site for groups or facilities wishing to train staff members. Enrollment is strictly limited to ensure individual attention.
Barry Libman is often called upon by professional associations to provide yearly presentations on Changes to IPPS, CPT Updates, as well as ICD-10-CM/PCS training. These presentations are also available for facilities wishing to provide on-site training to their staff members.
