Specialized coding courses increase coder knowledge, staff morale, and staff efficiencyBEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS – June 01, 2012 – Barry Libman Inc. and JLU Health Record Systems – which recently partnered to provide high quality, low cost online courses to medical coders – are now offering two important basic coding courses, “Fundamentals of Home Health Coding ” and “Understanding Case Mix and Coding for Home Health.” These courses are specifically designed to train home health staff and coders.
“These courses are strongly recommended for new home health staff and coders,” said JLU president Joan L. Usher. “Specialized training can also help providers improve staff efficiency and regulatory compliance, resulting in increased revenues and cash flow, as well as decreased audits and penalties. The end result: increased coder knowledge base, improved staff morale, and better staff efficiency.”
Susan Pepple, vice president of Barry Libman Inc noted online courses offer important flexibility. “The courses,” she said, “are self-paced, and do not require travel, which is a win-win for professionals pressed for time. The material is presented in a digestible format, and is foundational to professional home health coding practices. Those who complete these courses will come away with a much better understanding of home health coding and its proper application, and be much better equipped for a career in coding.”
